Eldon, June 9.---(Courier's Special Service.)---The residence of George Simms in this city caught fire Monday morning and was burned to the ground before the fire department could reach the place. The origin of the blaze is unknown, even to the members of the family. Very little was saved, the occupants being fortunate to escape with their lives. Although an alarm was sounded as soon as the fire was discovered and the members of the department made every effort to reach the scene of the conflagration in time to check it, their efforts were unavailing and the building is a total loss.
