Railroad Held Responsible for Wreck at Dyersville, IA., Which Killed Four Men.

NO SIGNALS WERE DISPLAYED.

Dubuque, IA., March 23 – The coroner’s jury inquiring into the cause of the deaths of Thomas, Rhyno, Griswold and Cavanaugh, killed in a collision of stock trains at Dyersville, February 25, returned a verdict holding the Chicago Great Western and Conductor Mahoney responsible, and charges both with gross negligence. The wreck was caused by a second section of the stock train crashing into the first section, standing at Dyersville. The evidence showed there were no signals placed, and the speed of the second section was such as to make a collision inevitable.
