Muscatine, IA Train Wreck, Jun 1899

A wreck on the Muscatine & Montezuma division happened 1½ miles west of Muscatine at seven o'clock last night. The front truck of the engine broke while the train was climbing the grade west of that city and the engine was thrown off the track and upon its side. Engineer Heller's arm was broken and fireman Houx was painfully injured having a number of ribs broken in the accident. Only one passenger, Rev. W. A. Schwinley, of Ashkum, Ill., received injuries and those were but slight ones.
