Fountain City, IN Head-On Auto Collision, May 1961

MOTHER AND TWO SONS ARE KILLED IN HEADON CRASH.

By The Associated Press.

A mother and her two young sons were killed Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision of a small foreign car and another auto at the crest of a Wayne County road hill two miles north of Fountain City.
Killed within sight of their rural home were MRS. MARY BAKER, 31, ROCKY BAKER, 6, and KELLY JOE BAKER, 4. Five others were injured none critically, including EARL T. REICHTER, 36, Richmond, brother of the dead woman and driver of the foreign car.
Sheriff's officers said the positions of the two cars after the wreck indicated the BAKER'S auto was in the center of the narrow road as it reached the crest of the hill. The little car was virtually demolished.
In fair condition at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond were KEITH WICKERSHAM, 40, his wife, DOROTHY, 37; a son, RICHARD, 13, and ANN STARKES, 18 year old daughter of MRS. WICKERSHAM. They live in a rural section northeast of Bethel.
MRS. BAKER'S husband, Harold and two older children were home at the time of the accident.
