Terre Haute, IN Excursion Train Wreck, July 1897
A Christian Endeavor excursion train on the Vandalia road collided with Train No. 5 west of Terre Haute, Ind. R.T. SHERMAN, a mail clerk of Indianapolis, and W.P. CONN, baggage master, also of Indianapolis, were killed, and SAMUEL PARKINSON, mail clerk of Columbus, and FRANK OWENS, fireman, of Terre Haute, were injured fatally. No passengers were injured.
