FATAL ACCIDENT

Isaiah MONROE, Jr., Accidentally Shot While Hunting

A frightful accident occurred near Brooksburg this morning, which will, in all probabliity, result in the death of the victim, the eightteen-year-old son of Isaiah MONROE, a farmer. Particulars are very megar, but from what can be learned, younr MONROE got down the shotgun and started quail hunting.

He had been gone but a short time when members of the family heard the report of the gun followed by agonizing cries. Hastening to the point from whence the cries proceeded they found him lying upon the ground with blood gushing from a horrible wound in his abdomen. He was carried to the house and a physician summoned. Examination disclosed that the entire lower part of the abdomen, producing a wound that in the physician's opinion will result in death.

It is not known how the gun discharged, but from the position of the wound it must have been fired from a point near the ground. The accident is greatly depolred, as the young man stands high in that community. His father is well known to the majority of our citizens.

Since writing the above we learn that Dr. Davidson, of this city, has been summoned and that the young man is reported to be dying.
