DEATH TO FIVE.
A LOCOMOTIVE WRECKED WHILE BEING TESTED.
Logansport, Ind., July 5. -- A wreck occurred on the Wabash, one mile east of Keller's Station at midnight which resulted in the complete destruction of the locomotive and the death of five men who were riding on the engine. It was a mixed or accommodation train, and the wreck was caused by the washing out of a four-foot stone culver.
The killed are:
Trainmaster C. F. WILCOX.
Superintendent of Bridges HARRY DUNLOP.
Foreman of Bridge Carpenters CHARLES HELM.
The men were testing one of the heavy new passenger locomotives recently purchased by the company.
