Dog Attacks Child

Marjorie Jane Trout, ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Trout, 212 Murden Street, was attacked and bitten by a dog Thursday evening about 6 o’clock, while playing in Carter street, not far from her home. The dog leaped at the little girl, biting her on the lip and seven stitches were required to close the wound. The child was resting comfortable Friday.

The animal is a bull dog and is owned by George Helton, Carter Street. It is said that the dog ran across the street and leaped on the child. It will be kept under observation for several days for any indications of rabies.
