Chicago, IL Fell Beneath the Wheels of a Train, Sept 1887

A 13-year-old boy named Thomas Gorman, while attempting to board a train yesterday at the crossing of the Panhandle track over West Seventeenth street, while it was in motion, fell beneath the wheels and had both legs cut off. He lives at No. 1120 West Sixteenth street, but was taken to the County Hospital, where the physician in charge said he would not recover.

on the body of Thomas Gorman who was killed by the cars at Western avenue and Eighteenth street yesterday and whose body lies at No. 1116 West Sixteenth street, at 9 o'clock.

Thomas Gorman, Jr., a 11 year old boy run over at the Burlington crossing of the St. Paul Road.

In the case of Gorman the railroad was censured for running trains on those tracks without proper protection.
