LEATHER PLANT BURNS.

DISASTROUS BLAZE AT MORRIS, ILL., RESULTS IN LOSS OF $220,000.

Morris, Ill., Oct. 28 -- The manufacturing plant of the Woelfel Leather company, which has retail stores in San Francisco, Chicago and Boston, and owned on of the largest tanneries in the country, burned last evening.
The establishment was worth about $350,000, the loss amounting to about $220,000, exclusive of tanbark, $5,000 worth of that also being destroyed.
The plant was insured for $140,000.
