Chicago, June 20. -- A westbound train on the Lake Street elevated road ran into an open switch near the Rockwell Street Station and was derailed, and the motor went completely off the tracks and plunged to the ground beneath, another car being about equally balanced over the side of the elevated structure, the motor held on end by the coupling.
M. G. JOHNSON, the motorman, was fatally injured.
JOHN APGER and JAMES A. BUGGIE, passengers, were injured, but not seriously.
