Havana, IL Roundhouse Fire, Jan 1929
Illinois Central roundhouse at Havana was destroyed by fire Sunday night. There were two locomotives in the house at the time and those machines were damaged so that they must be practically rebuilt before they are again serviceable. Trainmaster Wm. Golze and Engine Foreman McIntyre were in Havana Monday and the trainmaster declares that the wind swept river bank in Havana is the coldest in the state of Illinois. The representative of the machinery department does not make any formal statement by he does not contradict the trainmaster.
