PUSHED OFF THE CAR.
A Messenger Boy Probably Fatally Inured in a Tunnel.
By being pushed off the platform of a crowded Wells street car at the tunnel entrance, last evening, Lewis Berman, a 15-year--old American District messenger boy, sustained injuries which may prove fatal. The boy lived with his parents at No. 417 South Halsted street, and was on his way to the North Side with a message. He barely managed to secure a foothold, and just as the car passed into the tunnel he was forced from the platform by a movement of the crowd behind him. The boy fell between the car and the masonry and was severely crushed. He was taken to the Alexian Brothers' Hospital.
