He Came Near Being Drowned.
Oglethrope, Ga., August 15.---(Special)---R. J. Brooks had a narrow escape from drowning in the little branch about 150 yards of the court house this afternoon just after the heavy rain. He attempted to cross in a wagon and was carried down stream a considerable distance and lodged in some undergrowth. By the timely effort by some men near the depot he was rescued.
