Claxton, GA Two Car Collision, May 1964

GEORGIA CRASH KILLS SEVEN.

Claxton, Ga. - (AP) - Seven persons, including four members of a Linden, N.J. family, were killed near here Saturday in a grinding collision of two cars.
The victims were identified by Sheriff Loran Waters as, GEORGE RUDAT, 42; his wife, ELLEN, 29, and their two daughters, ELLEN, 10, and DEBRA, 5, of Linden, N.J.; and MR. and MRS. EDWIN GERBER and WALTER GERBER, of Bad Axe, Mich.
There were no survivors.
The sheriff said the car from Michigan rammed broadside into the New Jersey car.
He said MRS. RUDAT, the driver of the New Jersey auto which was going south on U.S. 301, apparently lost control of her car.
The auto ran off the right shoulder of the road and then came back across the road into the path of the northbound Michigan car. Waters said both cars were demolished.
