Jackson, GA Head On Crash Kills Seven, Aug 1961

HEAD-ON CRASH KILLS SEVEN MEN.

Jackson, Ga. (AP) - Two cars crashed head-on late Saturday night near this Central Georgia town and all seven occupants were killed.
Cpl. W. E. Butler of the state patrol said the victims were AUDREY RAY LANGSTON; RONALD HARDY; and RUFUS KNOWLES, all 22, of Jackson; JESSE CURLEY BUTLER, 18; and his brother, JAMES OTIS BUTLER, 23, of Cleveland, Ohio; CLIFFORD HEAD, 22, of Atlanta; and JOE LEWIS TALMADGE, 25, of Indian Springs, Ga.
The patrolman said the BUTLER brothers, HEAD and TALMADGE, all Negroes, were in a southbound car which crossed into the wrong lane on U.S. 23 and slammed into a car carrying the JACKSON trio.
