Darien, GA Head On Collision Kills Five, Aug 1957

5 DIE IN COLLISION.

Darien, Ga., Aug. 25 - (AP) - Five persons were killed early today when a car and a pickup truck collided head-on two miles north of this south Georgia town. Three others were injured.
State police said the accident occurred when a car driven by CLIFFORD DANIEL SMITH, SR., 39, Townsend, swung over the center line on U.S. 17.
Police identified the victims as:
SMITH and four persons in the back of the pickup truck;
FRED and ELIZA JONES, about 35;
FRANK JENKINS, 10;
and ELNORA MOODY, about 35, all of Darien.
The injured, included JAMES JENKINS, 43, driver of the truck. They were taken to Glynn Memorial Hospital.
