TWO AIRMEN DIE IN CRASH.

Savannah, Ga. -- (AP) -- Second Lieut. RICHARD PAUL HOFFMAN, 21, whose father is H. I. Hoffman of Sioux City, Ia., was killed Sunday when the plane which he was piloting crashed on a takeoff from McKinnon Field at St. Simon's Island.
Pvt. JAMES V. HOWLING, 23-year-old crew member of New Brunswick, N.J., also was killed in the accident.
The Savannah army air base announced that the pair was engaged in a routine flight.
Lieut. HOFFMAN was commissioned Aug. 5, 1942.
