SIX KILLED IN WRECK NEAR LAWTEY.

Lawtey, Jan. 22. - (AP) - Six persons were killed when a semi-trailer truck jackknifed across the road in front of their car on U.S. 301 north of here today, Sheriff J. P. Hall of Clay County reported.
He said a grown man, a girl about 16, another child and a baby about 1 were killed instantly. Two other persons from the car were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, which reported BLAKE HILLIARD was dead on arrival and RICHARD LEE HILLIARD, JR., died shortly after.
The hospital said it also had two children it identified as BARBARA HILLIARD, about 4, and CATHERINE HILLIARD, about 6, who were injured.
Sheriff Hall said the truck driver, BURTON L. CARTER of Jacksonville, reported his truck jackknifed when he applied the brakes and the car plowed into it. The truck was going north and the car south, the sheriff said.
