Bridgeport, CT Runaway Accident, Jun 1894

State Secretary Phelan's Brother Hurt.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn., July 28--Jerome Phelan, brother of Secretary of State John J. Phelan, was sitting in his wagon in front of his paint store on Main Street this morning when a runaway horse, belonging to Henry R. Parrott, crashed into Mr. Phelan's vehicle, throwing him to the ground. The animal trampled upon him. At the Emergency Hospital it was found he was suffering from concussion of the brain and several wounds, but he will recover unless there are serious internal injuries.
