Bridgeport, CT Train Accident, Aug 1900

KILLED ON THE RAIL.

The body of John McDonald, a sailor, aged 50 years, was found on the Consolidated Railroad tracks at Bridgeport at 6 o'clock this morning. The man evidently had been struck by a train. Among other things in McDonald's pockets were found credentials from the Burns lodge of Masons of Auckland, New Zealand. It is supposed that the man was on his way to East Bridgeport when he met his death.

NEW ZEALAND MASON KILLED.

The body of John McDonald was found on the Consolidated Road track yesterday morning. He had been struck by a train and killed. In his pockets were found credentials from the Burns Lodge of Masons of Auckland, New Zealand. McDonald was about 50 years old and was a sailor. He asked for assistance from the Bridgeport lodge Saturday and was given various articles. It was supposed that he was on his way to East Bridgeport to take a train when he was killed.
