Waterbury, CT Loading Dock Accident, Nov 1899

THOMAS' BAD FALL.

Waterbury, Nov. 7.---A peculiar accident took place in the factory of the Benedict & Burnham Company last night. George B. Thomas, the night watchman and an ex-Mayor of Waterbury, was going on his rounds, and while returning to the office he opened a door through which goods were received from below and he stepped off into space. He fell about 20 feet and was unconscious when found. At the hospital it was said that his thigh was fractured and it was doubtful if he would recover.
