CAR CRASH INTO PLATTE RIVER KILLS 5 IN DENVER.

Denver - Three women and two men were killed when the car they were in apparently missed a stop sign at the bottom of a steep hill and landed upside down in a river south of downtown, police said Sunday.
Police received a call about 9 a.m. from someone who reported seeing the car. One of the officers who responded immediately jumped into the Platte River and tried to break the car's windows to free the victims, but he was unsuccessful, a police spokeswoman said.
