5 SPUD WORKERS KILLED IN CRASH.

Monte Vista, Colo. (AP) - A crunching collision of a car and pickup truck late Tuesday killed five persons, all potato harvest workers, and injured four others.
The victims died instantly when the vehicles crashed together at the intersection of two Rio Grande County roads.
They were:
ALEX SALAZAR, 21;
ARMANDO O. ARMENTA, 29;
his 20-year-old wife FLORENCE;
MARY SANCHEZ, 16, all of Monte Vista;
and FELIPE ARAGON, 48, San Luis, Colo.
ORILIO T. MARTINEZ, 20, of La Jara, Colo., and JOE A. ARMENTA, 29, Monte Vista, were critically injured. ALONZO MAES, 16, San Luis, was listed in serious condition at a Monte Vista hospital. MIKE SERURA, 14, San Luis, was in fair condition.
ARMENTA was driving the car and ARAGON the truck, Highway Patrolman Lee Ruark said.
The deaths raised Colorado's highway toll for the year to 305, compared with 283 by this date last year.
