Ukiah, CA Four Freeze To Death, Nov 1952

FOUR FREEZE ON LONELY ROAD.

THREE CHILDREN AND GRANDFATHER VICTIMS.

Ukiah, Calif. (AP) - Mrs. Robert Parker left the hospital Sunday with her newborn son and was told that her three other children and her father-in-law were found frozen to death Saturday.
The bodies of MICHAEL PARKER, 5, and his sisters, CAROLINE ANN, 4, and PEGGY JO, 2, were found huddled together in a foot of snow on a deserted country road near here.
Their grandfather, REGINALD PARKER, 60, had started out in his jeep to take them to his home to stay while their mother was having her baby.
The ditched jeep was found near the children's bodies. It had plunged into a culvert.
PARKER'S frozen body was found sprawled out in the road some distance away. Apparently he had tried to seek aid, but collapsed in the snow.
