THIRTEEN INJURED AS BUS CRASHES TRUCK ON RIDGE.

NEW YEAR'S EVE PASSES WITHOUT AUTO FATALITY.

Thirteen persons were hurt New Year's Eve when a bus collided with a hay truck on the Ridge Route about a half hour before midnight, the California Highway Patrol reported. There were no highway fatalities.
Three of the bus-truck crash casualties are in Kern General Hospital this morning, while the rest of them were either treated and dismissed or continued on their way to Los Angeles without treatment, the highway patrol indicated.

Seriously Hurt.
The three seriously injured in Kern General Hospital today are:
DALE L. SMITH, 27, Los Angeles, bus driver, with leg injury;
ISADORA JOHNNIE WRUNE, 42, 410 Center Street, Taft, with leg injury.
EDWIN STEVENS, 67, San Francisco.
All were reported in "fair" or "good"
condition.
Others treated at Kern General Hospital for minor injuries were:
CYNDEA RAE SIMMONS, 2, San Fernando;
SARAH FRANCES SIMMONS, 26, San Fernando;
ANDREW PETERSON, 73, Conlinga.
CLYDE PAXTON PERRY, 57, McKittrick.
PAULINE LORNA METZGER, 45, Avenal.
LESTER P. TAYLOR, 30, Taft.
Three others - VERNA KREYENHAGEN, 23,
Conlinga; JOHN D. HARTOG, 24, Conlinga, and ALLEN HAWKINS, 47, Conlinga - continued their journey to Los Angeles, patrolmen said.

Passengers In Coach.
All, excepting SMITH, were passengers
in the southbound Airline Bus - the transit system which covers Highway 33 - that collided with a hay truck driven by CLARENCE FRED LEE, 35, North Hollywood.
LEE told highway patrolmen he did not see the bus behind him as he pulled to the side of the Ridge Route, three miles north of Grapevine. The bus struck the rear of the truck, according to reports. All injured were brought to Kern General Hospital by Snyder's ambulance.
