CRASH KILLS TWO ADULTS AND FOUR SMALL GIRLS.

Delano (Kern County), Feb. 13. -- (UP) -- Six persons, including four small girls, were killed early today when their car smashed head on into a heavy tank truck and trailer on Highway 99 south of here.
Highway Patrol officers reported the crash occurred at the southern end of the Delano underpass. They said the driver of the car apparently fell asleep and swerved into the path of the southbound truck.
Killed instantly were TED E. GALABAY, 31, of Los Angeles; MRS. AUDREY M. EGBERT, 30, of Los Angeles, and her four unidentified daughters.
MRS. EGBERT'S father, John G. Cozad, East Los Angeles, said at his home that the dead girls were MARILYN, 10; LUANA, 8; ANN, 4; and PEGGY, 3.
Officers believe GALABAY was the driver of the car, and that he fell asleep before the crash at about 2:15 a.m.
The truck driver, THOMAS O. McDANIEL, 29, of Visalia, escaped with minor injuries.
