Lompoc, CA Private Plane Crash, Aug 1959

CRASH KILLS 4 FORMERLY OF PARAMOUNT.

Two brothers and their wives who formerly lived in Paramount were killed Saturday when their private plane crashed into a new housing tract near Lompoc, Calif.
The victims were identified as CARL GENE CURTIS, 30, and his wife, BILLIE JEAN, 27; and JAMES LEE CURTIS, 30, and his wife ZYLPHA JANE, 24, all of Lompoc.
The plane crashed 18 minutes after takeoff from Lompoc Airport. Visibility was poor, and neither man was licensed for instrument flying.
An unoccupied house was damaged in the crash.
