The Business Portion of a Town Destroyed.
HARTMAN, Ark., Nov. 7. â€“ A disastrous fire visited this town yesterday morning and consumed nearly the entire business portion of the place. The fire originated in W. W. Rogersâ€™ store and spread with great rapidity. Following are the losses: W. W. Rogers, general merchant, store lease and stock, loss, $6,000; no insurance. J. J. Cravens, storehouse and stock, $13,000; no insurance. A A. Burleson, drugs and groceries, $4,500; no insurance. Mrs. A. E. Vardman, two buildings, $1,500; no insurance. Mrs. V. J. Carr, general merchandise, $1,000; no insurance. Adkinsâ€™ hotel, $1,000; no insurance. Two hundred bales of cotton at the depot and the depot building, $10,000.
