Craffe, AR Training Plane Crash, May 1944

SEVEN KILLED IN CRASH OF TRAINING PLANE.

Las Vegas, Nev., May 29. -- (AP) -- The seven crew members of a training plane from Las Vegas army air field, which crashed in the mountains near Craffe, Ark., during a thunderstorm Thursday, were killed instantly, the army air field announced today.
The field had announced previously that Corporal HARRY M. COVERT, Rockford, Ill., was killed.
The six other dead:
Lieutenant T. GETSON, Duryea, Pa.
Second Lieutenant WILLIAM T. PEARSON, pilot, Spartansburg, S.C.
Second Lieutenant CURTIS H. MYERS, Las Vegas.
Second Lieutenant GEORGE M. STEWART, Chattanooga, Tenn.
Staff Sergeant ROBERT F. THOMPSON, Earl, Wis.
Sergeant RAYMOND MASCIO, Bedford, Ind.
